What is a ceramide?

Ceramides work by locking moisture into your skin. This causes your skin to plump and have a fuller look. This minimizes the appearances of wrinkles.

How do phytoceramides relate to collagen?

Ceramides naturally stimulate the production of collagen in the skin. More collagen makes your skin appear fuller, younger and more plump.

But what is the science behind why phytoceramides work?

Phytoceramides contain lipids that are similar to the natural lipids that are already in our skin. As we age we naturally loose lipids in the skin surface. This causes us to loose elasticity and for the skin to sink and sallow forming wrinkles and crow feet. By taking phytoceramides we are replacing the amount of lipids available in the skin allowing our skin to plump and become fuller.

Where do ceramides come from?

Ceramides used to be extracted from animal products but now they are available from rice, sweet potatoes and rice.

Do phytoceramides have any effect on the agining process?

Yes. By adding lipids to your body that mimic the effect of your own skin’s lipids you slow down the aging process. You minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and crows feet.

Can phytoceramides be trusted or are they just snake oil?

Yes they can be trusted! Phytoceramides have undergone clinical trials and received the FDA seal of approval. Phytoceramides are also more important because you ingest them allowing them to heal and hydrate the body from the inside out whereas beauty creams can only work skin deep.
